AskGarden is a joint initiative by the Royal Horticultural Society and The Wildlife Trusts to encourage people to support wildlife in their gardens. In 2016 we partnered with the Bat Conservation Trust to help raise the profile of UK bats. With a recent report finding almost two thirds of the UK’s plant and animal species in decline the charities have come together to urge the British public to take action for nature by making their gardens and community spaces more wildlife friendly.
The fourth Wild About Ask Gardens saw wildlife gardening events organised across the UK by community groups, schools and individuals. The week focused on the small steps we can take to support bats and other wildlife in our gardens and green spaces.
Anyone with an interest in wildlife gardening can take part, whether by organising a volunteering event, or by taking action for wildlife in a private garden or green space.
