I'm having the same problem. Looked stunning intill late summer last year then all of a sudden it started looking ill. Black leaves and the flowers that were due to open also turnes brown and die away. I had been cutting the dead leaves right back to where it would spout new growth. It has 2 full leaves with black parts on them, no flowers and all the unopen leaves have black spots over them. Id love to save it as we've had ours for around 3-4 years. Any help would be great, thanks

Hi brendan. I’m having the same problem. I used some not quite fresh potato skins that had something like a little bit of white fungus or something, should i throw them out?

They say that compost contains fungus if it hasn’t been sterilized properly, i’m worried of getting my plant sick. If you were to count up the amount of banana skins, apple cores and lemon rinds that you’ve lost along the way, you’d be surprised at how much free compost you could have for your garden. Not only will you save money by not having to buy premium compost, you’ll gain extra plants to easily add yield volume by using some of that compost in compost tea.
